Sadness

Last night I cut my hair. It turned out pretty cute. I gave myself some swishy side bangs. Then cut in some face framing pieces and trimmed the bottom so it wasn't scraggly.

We went to the gym. It was SO much fun! I loved it! I'm a little sore today but not too bad at all. I was just learning everything mostly. We did leg presses and I did 540lbs!!! Pretty darn good if I do say so!

This chick is a beast. Who exercises in a bikini? Show off.

We went home. Happy with the day excited for our next trip to the gym. We went to bed. At about 1:45am we got a phone call. It was Justins Mom. His stepdad had just died in his sleep.

His stepdad has had some troubles and has been to the doctor. I'm not sure all of the details but the doctors had recently given him about 5 years to live. No one expected it to be a couple weeks. They aren't really sure how he died. The ambulance people suspected accidental overdose. He had a lot of different pills the doctor prescribed. Justins Mom says no way.

Today hasn't been a good day. He's not in pain anymore so that's good. But I keep thinking how he won't be at the wedding. Justin brought this up and realizing that he's upset by it makes me very emotional. He won't get to meet our future kids. Justin and his Mom, Debbie, seem to be taking it better than I am. They accept it better. Me?...not so much.

I lost my Grandpa last November. I remember because it was before my families big get together for Thanksgiving. He wasn't there. Ever since then I'll just start crying. People die all the time. You could see them one day. Any number of things could happen and they could die the next. It has made me very aware of how short life is. I worry about people. It makes me nervous when people aren't with me. I worry that something bad might happen to them. Irrational, I know, but true. Cars make me exceptionally nervous. I see bad things happening. Picture it in my head. Then I start to tear up. It's part of why, at age 23, I still don't have my license. I'm paranoid that I might get in a crash. It scares me. There's not any one time I can recall that might have made me feel this way. It's just always put me on edge to be in vehicles.

Anywho, let me bottle up this emotion really fast before Justin sees. I have definitely been better.

Corset update

Remember the corsets/bustiers I ordered? The two of them because I was silly and bought one on ebay and then won another. I got them in the mail awhile ago. Here's the story.

My honey (who still doesn't know I bought them) called me at work and said, "Honey, did you order something from ebay?"

Me: "Me? What? Huh?" pretending to be oblivious.

Honey: "Did you buy something from ebay?" he says this like he's talking to a little kid who got their hand caught in the cookie jar.

Me: "I don't know what your talking about" I sound prissy and stuck up with a hint of smile.

Honey: "Uh huh..." I can hear rustling in the background.

Me: "No Honey! Don't open it!"

He laughed and left it in the room for me. For the rest of the workday I was eager to go home and tear open my new toy! I love how it feels like Christmas when I get stuff in the mail! When I get home I rush inside my bedroom and told Justin "Do NOT! come in here!". Tear open the package, pieces of paper and plastic flying everywhere. Finally I reach the prize and see the beautiful material. It is so very very pretty. I pull it out, hold it up and look at it, a huge smile on my face. It was perfect!

Then I held it to me ready to try it on...

*swear words...lots and lots of swear words...and then more swear words and maybe, perhaps some stomping*

It was a 2 frickin' X!!! A 2X!!! They said the sizes run small so I figured, okay, I'll get a 2X and it will definitely fit, maybe be too big. No way in hell is that going to fit me. Even if I kill myself with exercise and dieting. No way.

MOH Sammi came over yesterday because I wanted to see if it could fit her it was that small. She tried it on and what do you know. It fit! Okay, not a perfect fit but it looked decent. It fit her boobs but around her waist it was a little hangy. (Hangy? Nice word). You can see her picture over on the side there. She is around a size 5 comfortably. But she can fit a friggin' 3.

3? Are you kidding me? The sizes run a little small? I didn't look at the measurements they suggest so it is my fault. But come on.

I felt like crap earlier. A 2X was too small for me. Then after I saw that it fit Sam I felt better about my size and even more angry at those damn internet people. I sucked it up though...the corset really was gorgeous. Just completely the wrong size. I purchased another one yesterday. A (scary movie music) 5X! (AHHHHHHH! Throw your popcorn in the air) Let's hope this one f'kin' fits!

So, both of the corset/bustiers I purchased before don't fit because they are the same size. I'm currently in the process of trying to find a home for them. I thought about craigslist, but that never seems to work. And I'm too lazy to start an ebay account for selling stuff. I'm a buyer, not a seller. So begins my search for someone who is small and will buy the depressing corsets from me.

The Muscle Studio!

I am so friggackilackin' (sound it out) excited! Justin and I signed up and are now members of The Muscle Studio! It's a gym in South Beach (close to us). Woo frickin' Hoo! We plan on going tomorrow. Our first day at our gym!

These people seem really great! On top of the 24 hour access to their gym, they'll also work with you to develop a "plan" when you first sign up. After that you have to pay $40 an hour if you'd like training etc. But the initial "plan" is free. Oh how I love free. They also have free classes (yoga, cardio, all that good stuff) that you can go to. The best part? It's only $55 a month for both of us! What a deal!

...Ohmmmmmm...

We were so excited that we went out yesterday and purchased new running shoes and some cute workout clothes. Justin's weren't cute I suppose. But they look pretty darn good on him.

Speaking of my Honey. We rarely (and I mean RARELY) drink alcohol. We bought some yesterday (while shopping for exercise clothes) with the plan to go home and have a little drink. Have you ever had these?

The...well we call it bitch beer? Strawberry daiquiri flavor is Justin's favorite. After 1. Just 1. Justin was tipsy. Then he had one more. Total of two.

Oh. my. goodness.

Who knew my Honey was such a lightweight? He was hilarious! And drunk. Yes, drunk. Off of two wine coolers. It was the funniest thing ever and the first time I've ever seen him drunk. What a sight.

Beat That!

Nothing can beat the Summer Festival fireworks show. It is one of the major highlights of the weekend and there is no question why. Without a doubt these are the best fireworks on the coast by far. If only the stinkin' wind would have cooperated tonight. There was no wind at all. At all. And for those of you who don't know...that means all of the smoke from the fireworks stayed where it was. With no wind to blow the smoke away all of the fireworks went off behind clouds. Damn. It was still an amazing friggin' show! But it could have been so much better if it wasn't for the wind...or lack thereof.

It was a pretty cool sight with the fireworks behind the clouds. Kinda like a sweet lightning storm, only and full of color.

I wasn't able to stay all of today because I got sick in the afternoon. Had to go home and rest. I'm not sure what was wrong with me but I was shaky, had terrible cramps (no clue why) and was on the verge of passing out (so not cool). So I thought it would be a good idea to take a break. I felt bad though because I was helping man the info trailer for the committee. Oh well, stuff happens.

Another highlight of Summer Fest is the logging show. Actually it's pretty much what the whole thing is centered around. To start off the logging show the Queen (my sister!) throws an axe...and it has to stick (go figure). So she was practicing yesterday at my Mom and Dads house and threw her axe through the garage. Oops! Small hole, not too bad.

Her axe is great! It is bright pink with pretty rhinestones. Logger glam! So when she went down to the field after today's parade to practice at her actual target in front of people...she was given instructions and help by some of the local loggers. Everyone soon realized Sammi's axe was about 10lb heavier than the axes that loggers use for this event. 10lb is a HUGE difference. Plus, the handle and the head of the axe were not balanced, making a difficult throw. And the head of the axe had rounded edges instead of super sharp evil looking ones...which made it bounce off the target instead of stick. Double damn. So she had to give up her fantabulous axe and go for a normal one.

So it was time for her to be front and center. The stands were packed (as always) crowds were gathered around all staring. She was announced and all waited for her to throw the axe. This picture is similar to our targets except we have cages around them.
Her first attempt Sam nicked the outer rim. The announcer blamed the wind for her and offered her to take 3 steps forward. She declined of course. No way would that work for Samantha. Her second throw she hit what would be the equivalent to the blue/red area. SWEET!! She rocks!

Here is a pic of our logging show. This is the choker setting, my personal favorite.

Summer Fest

This weekend is the Toledo Summer Festival. This years theme is "lights, camera, action" so the float for the court is all hollywood glam. Very cute. And yay again my sister made Queen!

I'm not really sure what I'll be helping out with down there, I just know I'll be helping. Tonight is the huge fireworks show too. Fun Fun.

My rides here...asta la vista!

Queen Sammi!

I've been pretty busy lately between the wedding, Summer Fest., and work. Tonight was corination. Sammi won Miss Congeniality ($100), Most sales ($250), and Most hours volunteered ($250). She also won QUEEN ($500)! Total scholarship money is $1,100. Good job Sam! She worked really hard all summer long for this, she really deserved it. We made a little "bet" earlier in the year. The just of it was, if she won I promised I'd do her hair for every day of the festival. Damn.

Well, I'm off to try and catch up on some sleep. The bed is calling my name...

Nap time yet?

Things have been SOOO busy lately. We went and signed paperwork for the loan yesterday. That took forever and a day. After that we went through and organized all of the bills we want to pay off. Today we went to the bank to deposit our moolah. Woo Hoo! We're RICH...for the moment. It's all being used for something. No crap spending! That's the rule.

I had to make a crafty little ballot box for Summer Festival. I'm supposed to be making the little vote cards for it as we type/read. But this is just so much more fun.

Me and Justin went and saw The Dark Knight this evening. It was REALLY REALLY great! I loved it. Amazing movie. Go see it. Two Face's face in the end...loved it! Awesome awesome job. And of course Heath Ledger...there could not have been a better joker.

Well, I gotsta get to friggin' work on the voter cards. Then sleep would be good. Sometime tonight.
